I was thinking of doing the same thing.  I have been looking for some plans for one, but have come up short. If someone can find some, i would like to see them. What i wanted to do is have a hose connected to an igloo with copper tubing coiled inside with ice in it.  The other end is connected to PVC tube with multiple hoses and nozzles on it. i have seen one, but didnt get to really study it.

Coaches,

For what I have been reading this is what I have come up with based on the case that I am going to attach it to a fence.

20 ft of  pvc pipe or two 10 ft sections. (1/2 inch and highest gauge you can get)
Holes are 1/4 drill bit
Can be in-line at anywhere from 1 foot to 1.5 to 2.5 feet apart
Cap one end using joint compound/cement (it comes clear or blue)
Other side connect a spigot or anything that you can attach a hose .
zip tie to fence.

I have built a couple, much like JCarbon2 has described.
We mounted ours on a saw horse so that we did not have to run a long length of hose and kept it close to the school building (water will get warm fast if in the sun.)
I used a 5' length of 3/4 pvc pipe, capped at one end and drilled with a 1/4 bit. Getting the angle of the hole is bit tricky, but this is an easy build. I used a boiler drain as the valve, although you probably want something with a female thread, so a garden hose will attach to it.
I also use a quick disconnect fitting to make putting it away easier

I put a picture of one I made last year on this forum.  You can do a search on here under my name, it should still be here.  I did not have plans written up other than in my head.

Works pretty good.

Had one of these when i was in High School.  Greatest thing ever , No waiting for water bottles or what not. Only bad thing is depending on the age of kids you coach some try to put their mouths on the pvc pipe over the holes, just be sure to clean it every once in a while.

Last year we played a game at an opponents high school stadium.  They had a great set up there. It was basically a garden house connected to a PCV pipe that had roughly 8-10 hoses attached to it with squeezable outlets. The hoses were a clear flexible plastic about 3/8" in diameter. I've seen this type of hose in Home Depot before.

Made mine last week. Just added a union fitting so I could break it down to fit in the truck.

Hell, just make a chute like that and they'll never even need to break for water. 🙂

You might have to get a patent for this, this has double slip-n-slide written all over it  8).

Okay, I won't sue for my patent rights if you don't sue for the union fitting I'm going to add to mine.
